First Rambling

In working to complete my Bachelor’s Degree, I am taking an Intro to Entrepreneurship class!  This blog has been created as an assignment for that class, but it will be a wonderful gathering place for my thoughts, reflections, and other general musings about business.  It will become a valued collection to me as I grow in knowledge and understanding with my career!

I had to select and read a book of my choice (from a list of course) on entrepreneurship, and I chose Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Sharon L. Lechter and Robert T. Kiyosaki.  This book had amazing insights on money and financial freedom.  Several of my favorite quotes from the book include:

“There is a difference between being poor and being broke.  Broke is temporary.  Poor is eternal.”

“Most people never see these opportunities because they are looking for money and security.”

“It’s not how much money you make, but how much money you keep!”

My understanding of finance was really enlarged by such simple teaching, and I have so many thought of great way s to implement some change in my personal point of view!  I am excited to write my report for next week, and clearly define my thoughts as it pertains to this vast sea of knowledge hidden in the text.

This week we also browsed through many business blogs, and were assigned to pick a favorite to follow for at least the semester.  I chose to follow www.workhappy.net, which is a blog what give practical advice, and really quick/simple tips on business.  I am looking forward to digging in deeper into his site, and finding treasures that will expand my understanding of the business world.

We are just starting to learn about the $100.00 Entrepreneur Project that we will be completing this semester.  I am fairly excited about this opportunity to learn in a very hands on sort of way, and I know that it will come with its challenges, but I say bring it on!

I am really excited about my future, and the direction that I am going with my degree, and future career.  I am looking forward to becoming a human sponge and soaking in all the information that I am able to hold (and a little more)!
